Middleweight contender Luke Rockhold wrapped up a spectacular night of finishes at UFC Fight Night 55 on Friday with a second-round guillotine choke victory over savvy veteran Michael Bisping.
Rockhold controlled the opening frame with a variety of rib-roasting kicks, before flooring the Brit with a head kick early in the second round, and finishing the fight with a barrage of punches and a one-armed guillotine choke.
"I'm the No. 1 contender," Rockhold said following the fight as relayed by Dave Doyle of MMAFighting. "I'll beat anyone, it doesn't matter."
The former Strikeforce champion improved his record to 3-1 in the UFC, and could be on the precipice of a title shot.
For Bisping, the loss likely signals the end of his run as a middleweight contender.
The main event was just the violent finale of a fantastic night of fights which featured a UFC record-breaking 11 finishes.
