A middleweight bout between Anthony "Fluffy" Hernandez and Gregory Rodrigues will headline a UFC Fight Night event in Sacramento on Aug. 22, sources told MMA Fighting's Mike Heck.
Hernandez is looking to get back on track from a TKO loss to current champion Sean Strickland at UFC Houston in February. The 32-year-old California native was previously riding an eight-fight winning streak and on the cusp of a title shot.
Rodrigues has won three in row with knockouts of Brunno Ferreira and Jack Hermansson and a decision over Roman Kopylov. The 34-year-old Brazilian is 6-1 in his last seven Octagon appearances, his lone loss during that stretch coming against Jared Cannonier in a January 2025 main event.
Hernandez and Rodrigues are No. 7 and No. 9 in the UFC's new Meta rankings, respectively.
The promotion is returning to Sacramento for the first time since July 2019.
