Welterweight Gunnar Nelson has been forced to withdraw from his UFC 318 fight against Neil Magny after suffering a hamstring injury, he announced on Instagram on Friday.
The pay-per-view event is scheduled to take place July 19 in New Orleans.
Nelson was looking to rebound from a unanimous decision loss to Kevin Holland in March. That marked the 36-year-old's first Octagon appearance in over two years.
Magny is riding a two-fight skid and is 1-3 in his past four outings. His lone victory in that stretch was a third-round TKO of Mike Malott at UFC 297 in January 2024.
In the UFC 318 main event, Dustin Poirier is slated to make his final walk to the cage for a trilogy bout against BMF champion Max Holloway.
