Anthony Smith 'probably' retiring after UFC 310 loss

LAS VEGAS - Former UFC light heavyweight title challenger Anthony Smith is likely hanging up the gloves.

Smith said after a second-round TKO loss to Dominick Reyes at UFC 310 on Saturday night that it was "probably" his last fight.

"I don't know," Smith said in his postfight interview when asked if he had made his final walk to the Octagon. "Probably. But it's been a long road, man. I want to think on it. But probably."

Smith came into UFC 310 with a heavy heart after his longtime coach and friend, Scott Morton, died in November. Smith was emotional as he entered the cage and said it was hard to compete without Morton in his corner.

"I don't even give a f--k about the fight," Smith said. "I don't know how many times I can do this. Scott was my best friend. ... I couldn't even control (my emotions) walking in here. I gotta do some thinking. I don't know how many times I can do this without him."

Smith, 36, has fought 58 times as a professional and has been in the UFC since 2016. "Lionheart" is riding a two-fight skid and has lost three of his past four bouts.
