Report: Tuivasa-Rozenstruik targeted for UFC 305
Heavyweights Tai Tuivasa and Jairzinho Rozenstruik verbally agreed to square off at UFC 305 on Aug. 17 in Perth, Australia, sources told MMA Fighting's Damon Martin.
Tuivasa and Rozenstruik are ranked Nos. 10 and 12 in the division, respectively.
Once a top-5 heavyweight, Tuivasa is looking to rebound from his first four-fight losing streak and seeking his first win since February 2022. The Australian is coming off a submission defeat to Marcin Tybura in a UFC Fight Night main event in March.
Rozenstruik defeated Shamil Gaziev by fourth-round TKO in a March headliner to get back in the win column. The Suriname native has alternated wins and losses in his past four Octagon outings and holds a 2-3 record over the last three years.
In the UFC 305 main event, middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis is scheduled to defend his title for the first time against former two-time champ Israel Adesanya.
