Khalil Rountree Jr. earned the biggest win of his career in the co-main event of Saturday's UFC Fight Night card.
Rountree landed an uppercut and left hook that sent former light heavyweight title challenger Anthony Smith to the canvas. Rountree opted not to go in for any follow-up shots as Smith covered up, and referee Mark Smith swiftly intervened.
After the win at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Rountree, ranked No. 11 at 205 pounds, said he hopes to one day face light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira. Smith was ranked No. 8 heading into the matchup.
Rountree has won five in a row and hasn't tasted defeat since January 2021.
