Marlon "Chito" Vera will compete in the Octagon at UFC 292 after all.
Pedro Munhoz agreed to replace Henry Cejudo in a bantamweight bout against Vera at the Aug. 19 pay-per-view event in Boston, Vera's management team announced Friday.
Cejudo, the former UFC bantamweight and flyweight champion, withdrew from the high-profile matchup in late June due to a shoulder injury.
Munhoz is coming off a unanimous decision win over Chris Gutierrez at a UFC Fight Night card in April, which snapped a three-fight winless streak. While the 36-year-old should be a relatively tough test for the No. 6-ranked Vera, he's a clear step down from Cejudo. Munhoz is ranked No. 10 in the division, while Cejudo is No. 3.
Vera suffered a lopsided decision loss to Cory Sandhagen in his last fight, which served as a UFC Fight Night main event in March. The Ecuador native was riding a four-fight winning streak before that, beating the likes of Dominick Cruz, Frankie Edgar, and Rob Font.
UFC 292 will feature a bantamweight title bout between champion Aljamain Sterling and Sean O'Malley, as well as a strawweight title clash between champ Zhang Weili and Amanda Lemos.
