UFC featherweight Lerone Murphy was hospitalized Tuesday after being hit by a car while cycling, he said Wednesday in an Instagram post.

Murphy, who posted a photo of himself from a hospital bed, said he suffered a "nasty head wound" in the accident.

Murphy, of Manchester, England, said a vehicle collided with him on a right turn. He added the ambulance took 45 minutes to arrive, "which nearly caused me to bleed out."

"I can't catch a break," Murphy wrote. "Another near-death experience."

In 2013, Murphy was shot three times outside Manchester. He was hit in the face and neck twice. Murphy, 30, spent a week in intensive care but suffered no permanent injuries.

Murphy, whose nickname is "The Miracle" because of that incident, made his professional MMA debut in 2016 before joining the UFC in 2019. He holds a 3-0-1 record in the Octagon and is coming off a highlight-reel knockout of Makwan Amirkhani at UFC 267 last October.
