Middleweights Jack Hermansson and Sean Strickland are set to fight in the main event of the UFC Fight Night card on Feb. 5, sources told ESPN's Brett Okamoto.

Contracts for the bout reportedly should be signed soon.

Hermansson is the No. 6-ranked middleweight, while Strickland owns the No. 7 spot.

Hermansson rebounded from a December 2020 loss to Marvin Vettori by beating Edmen Shahbazyan in May. The 33-year-old previously won five of his last six fights before falling to Vettori by unanimous decision.

Strickland is riding a five-fight winning streak, most recently earning a unanimous decision victory over Uriah Hall in July.

The winner of the bout could propel themselves into the title conversation once several high-profile fights at the top of the division play out in early 2022.

Champion Israel Adesanya is expected to defend his title in a rematch with former 185-pound king Robert Whittaker in the first few months of the year, while the next title challenger will likely be the winner of a January clash between No. 3 Jared Cannonier and No. 4 Derek Brunson.
