Ben Askren can't seem to stay away from the combat sports world in his post-retirement life.
The former UFC welterweight said Tuesday he's willing to return to the promotion to square off with Nate Diaz in what would be Diaz's last bout on his current UFC deal.
"Nate is right, I suck at boxing. He sucks at MMA. If he wants me to prove it I can be in the USADA pool tomorrow," Askren tweeted. "Would be happy to be the last fight on his contract."
On Monday, in response to Askren recently saying internet personality Jake Paul is "kind of good" at boxing, Diaz referred to Askren as a "retired wrestler who can't fight or box."
That comment also prompted a heated Twitter exchange between Diaz and Paul in which Diaz said Paul would get "smoked (in) a real fight."
Askren retired from MMA in 2019, but he returned to competition earlier this year to make his boxing debut in a highly anticipated clash with Paul. Askren lost by first-round knockout.
