Legendary UFC announcer Bruce Buffer tested positive for COVID-19 and won't take part in Saturday's UFC 267 card in Abu Dhabi, UFC president Dana White announced Thursday, according to Damon Martin of MMA Fighting.
Buffer will miss his first pay-per-view event since UFC 11 in September 1996, a streak of 255 consecutive numbered cards across 25 years, according to Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie.
White said Joe Martinez will replace Buffer and introduce the fighters at the event.
Jon Anik, Daniel Cormier, and Paul Felder are set to commentate cageside at UFC 267, which will be headlined by a light heavyweight title bout between champion Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira.
