Maycee Barber put an end to her first professional losing streak.
The UFC women's flyweight prospect earned a split decision victory over fellow young star Miranda Maverick at UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas on Saturday.
Barber had won her first eight professional fights and was touted as a future champion but suffered unanimous decision losses to Roxanne Modafferi and Alexa Grasso in her last two bouts.
Maverick dominated the first round before Barber mounted a rally in the third - including a powerful spinning elbow.
Barber entered the night ranked 14th in the division and figures to begin her climb back into the top 10. Maverick, who entered ranked 13th, now owns a 9-3 record and saw her five-fight win streak snapped.
