The UFC is working to finalize two main-event middleweight fights for August.

Paulo Costa is set to meet Jared Cannonier at a Fight Night event on Aug. 21, UFC president Dana White told ESPN's Brett Okamoto.

Darren Till is expected to meet Derek Brunson in a five-round bout at a Fight Night event at an undetermined location on Aug. 14, per Okamoto.

Costa is the No. 2-ranked middleweight but hasn't appeared in the Octagon since dropping a title fight to Israel Adesanya in September. The 13-1 fighter was scheduled to face Robert Whittaker in April but pulled out due to an illness and was replaced by Kelvin Gastelum.

Cannonier ranks fourth in the division and is attempting to rebound from a loss to Whittaker in October.

Brunson and Till are ranked fifth and sixth in the division, respectively.

Brunson owns a 22-7 record and has won his last four bouts. He defeated Kevin Holland by unanimous decision in March.

Till has lost three of his last four fights - the first three defeats of his career - including a unanimous decision to Whittaker in July. He was set to face Marvin Vettori in April but suffered a broken collarbone weeks prior.
