Ferguson roasts Chandler: 'You got Dana White privilege'

Tony Ferguson doesn't seem to think Michael Chandler deserves to fight for the vacant lightweight title in Saturday's UFC 262 main event.

Ferguson, a former interim lightweight champion who is set to co-headline the card against Beneil Dariush, blasted Chandler at the prefight press conference in Houston.

"You got this shit handed to you," Ferguson said to Chandler on Thursday. "You got Dana White privilege."

Chandler, a former Bellator champion, made his UFC debut in January and knocked out Dan Hooker, who was ranked No. 6 in the division at the time. Two months later, it was announced that Chandler would face Charles Oliveira for the vacant belt following Khabib Nurmagomedov's retirement.

Ferguson accused Chandler of turning down a fight between the two of them, but Chandler said that wasn't true.

"You're a b----," Ferguson said. "Every f------ person out here except for this guy right here that's sitting next to me (Oliveira). I'm going to be real, man. The other side (Chandler and Dariush), those are f------ losers ... This side is the victory table."

Ferguson was likely referring to when he called out Chandler last November for a main-event fight in December. A few days later, Chandler responded and said he wouldn't be ready for that date but was interested in fighting "El Cucuy" in January on the undercard of Dustin Poirier versus Conor McGregor 2.

"You could've fought me Jan. 23 and I would've done the same thing to you as I did to Hooker," Chandler said Thursday.

Chandler and Ferguson were briefly targeted to fight at UFC 254 last October, but the matchup never materialized.
