The welterweight bout between Nate Diaz and Leon Edwards has been pushed back from UFC 262 on May 15 to UFC 263 on June 12 as Diaz deals with a minor injury, reports Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports.

The fight would have served as the co-main event for the Charles Oliveira-Michael Chandler lightweight championship fight. Instead, the match will join the card in Glendale, Arizona, which also features a middleweight title bout between Israel Adesanya and Marvin Vettori and a flyweight championship fight between Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno.

Diaz hasn't fought since facing Jorge Masvidal in a BMF title match at UFC 244 in November 2019.

Postponements are nothing new to Edwards. The No. 3-ranked welterweight put together an eight-fight win streak but hadn't seen action since July 2019 due to various fight cancellations. Edwards returned to the Octagon on March 13 to meet Belal Muhammad only to see the fight called a no-contest due to an eye poke from Edwards in the second round.
