Report: Magny-Neal booked for May 8 UFC Fight Night
The UFC is finalizing a matchup between Neil Magny and Geoff Neal for the UFC Fight Night event on May 8, sources told ESPN's Brett Okamoto.
The ranked welterweights were originally scheduled to meet in August 2020, but Neal withdrew due to health issues. Magny went on to defeat former welterweight champion Robbie Lawler on the same card.
Magny, ranked No. 9 at 170 pounds, is coming off a loss to Michael Chiesa in the main event of a UFC Fight Night card in January. The 33-year-old is 3-1 in his past four contests.
Neal, ranked No. 11, most recently suffered the first loss of his UFC career, a one-sided decision against former title challenger Stephen Thompson in December. That was his first defeat since 2017. Neal, 30, started his UFC tenure with five straight victories and was riding a seven-fight winning streak before the bout with "Wonderboy."
The May 8 show will be headlined by a pivotal bantamweight clash between Cory Sandhagen and former champ TJ Dillashaw.
