MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko was hospitalized in Russia after testing positive for COVID-19, sources told ESPN's Ariel Helwani.
"I feel fine. I am going into recovery," Emelianenko wrote in an Instagram post Thursday, according to a translation by RT Sport. "I'm grateful to the doctors and medical staff for their care and hard work."
Emelianenko is considered one of the greatest heavyweights of all time and is currently under contract with Bellator. He last competed in December 2019 when he knocked out Quinton "Rampage" Jackson in the first round.
The 44-year-old is best known for his 28-fight unbeaten streak that lasted from 2001-10. Emelianenko holds wins over UFC veterans Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (twice), Mirko Cro Cop, Andrei Arlovski, and Mark Hunt, among others.
