Report: Deiveson Figueiredo's brother set for UFC debut
The sibling of a UFC champion will be stepping into the Octagon for the first time in early 2021.
Francisco Figueiredo, the younger brother of flyweight king Deiveson Figueiredo, is expected to make his UFC debut against Jerome Rivera in a 125-pound contest Jan. 20, sources told MMA Fighting's Alexander K. Lee, Guilherme Cruz, and Mike Heck.
Francisco signed with the promotion last week.
"Sniper" hasn't competed since a draw against Eduardo Souza in a Jungle Fight bantamweight title bout in September 2019. The 31-year-old is riding a three-fight unbeaten streak and holds an 11-3-1 professional record.
Rivera is coming off a stoppage loss to Tyson Nam in September. He's 0-1 in the UFC.
The promotion has yet to announce the Jan. 20 card. A main event and location have not been revealed.
