Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones went after Israel Adesanya in an Instagram post on Monday.

Adesanya said in the past that he wants to fight Jones, and he reiterated that after retaining the middleweight title with a second-round TKO of Paulo Costa at UFC 253 this past weekend.

However, Jones doesn't believe Adesanya actually wants to fight him.

"It raises your stock to mention my name, you're aware of this," Jones wrote. "You don't want real confrontation with me, I'm not gonna just stand there and kickbox with you. I've been preparing for heavyweights, right around now I would literally tear one of your arms off."

Adesanya said he would "maybe" still entertain the idea of fighting at light heavyweight despite Jones no longer being the champion. "Bones" relinquished his title in August to pursue a run in the heavyweight division.

The pound-for-pound king criticized "The Last Stylebender" for still not committing to a move to the 205-pound division despite his experience in kickboxing and boxing.

"You've stepped into the ring over 100 times now and you're still not ready!?" Jones wrote. "You have a youth advantage (over me) and like four times the fighting experience.

"The truth is you're already my p----, you love being undefeated and you've seen what's happened to everyone else."
