Perry thinks he would beat 'weak' Nate Diaz

Mike Perry likes his chances against one of the UFC's biggest stars.

"Platinum," who picked up a win over Mickey Gall this past weekend, said Tuesday he's confident he would beat Nate Diaz if they faced off in the Octagon.

"I think he's a skinny, weak, little f--- like Mickey Gall," Perry told ESPN's Ariel Helwani. "I mean, I respect what he's done in the sport. He plays the guard game and jiu-jitsu and shit. He thinks he can box with that little weak ass punches that he's got, little salt and pepper punches. He doesn't stand a chance to hit me hard enough. I'd hit him on the feet, same way Jorge Masvidal did, and I'd play his guard, I'd get half guard, sit on top of him. It'd look exactly the same as the Mickey Gall fight did, to be honest with you.

"So if you guys liked that fight, then yeah, you'll probably like the Nate Diaz fight, too, because he's a little more durable. He'll probably try to stand there and box back with me, but my power punches would just ass sit him down."

The welterweight snapped a two-fight skid with his unanimous decision victory over Gall, which served as the co-main event at UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Hooker in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, Diaz is coming off a stoppage loss to Masvidal last November.

Perry, 28, said his prediction is not about his thoughts on Diaz as a person, but simply how he believes their skills would match up.

"I'm not hating on Nate Diaz," Perry said. "He's done things in the sport. He's made money. Good for him, dude. I've always thought I'd beat that guy. It's as simple as that. We're talking about one-on-one, in the ring, fight. And I'd win."
