The UFC has launched an investigation into longtime cutman Don House, who was seen wearing conspiracy theory symbols on his gear this past Saturday.

House wore patches that reference far-right conspiracy theory QAnon on his arm and chest at UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Volkov in Las Vegas. The markings could be seen on the broadcast when House was tending to Curtis Blaydes before the fight and between rounds. Blaydes won the heavyweight main event.

"This was a violation of our staff event outfitting policy and the matter will be thoroughly investigated," the UFC said in a statement to ESPN's Marc Raimondi.

House didn't ask for or receive approval from the UFC to wear the symbols, sources told Raimondi. The promotion was unaware of the patches on House's gear until pictures surfaced on the internet Monday.

The UFC doesn't endorse the views the patches express, sources told Raimondi.

QAnon is a fringe theory that originated on the internet forum 4chan. It claims there's a secret "deep state" plot against United States President Donald Trump and his supporters. There's been no evidence to back up the theory.

House told MMA Fighting's Steven Marracco on Tuesday that he regrets wearing the symbols and causing "embarrassment" for the UFC and company president Dana White, whom House said he considers a friend.

The cutman said he has no direct ties to QAnon, but has read message boards over the past year and agrees with the theory's "where we go one, we go all" message.
