Conor McGregor may have a mixed martial arts legend in his crosshairs for his second fight of 2020.

After the former two-division UFC champion listed him atop his "GOAT thread" last week, Anderson Silva expressed interest in a potential superfight at 176 pounds.

I have immense admiration for the great athlete that Conor is and I believe that a super fight would go down in the history of the sport, neither of us need to prove anything to anyone; I believe that fans of the UFC and of this sport would like to watch this great martial arts spectacle, it would be fantastic to test my martial arts skills against him!!

McGregor took note of Silva's Instagram post and appeared on board for the bout.

The two fighters are among the most accomplished in UFC history. Silva was once the unquestioned top pound-for-pound king but has lost four of his last five fights and recently turned 45.

Meanwhile, McGregor returned to the Octagon after a 15-month absence in January, defeating Donald Cerrone via first-round TKO at UFC 246.
