The UFC event originally targeted for May 23 is being pushed back a week to May 30, sources told MMA Junkie's Nolan King on Tuesday.

It's unclear what prompted the change in plans.

A location for the event has reportedly not yet been finalized. Four fights were targeted for May 23, including a headliner between former welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and Gilbert Burns. At least two of those bouts will be moved to the new date, King added.

The promotion resumed operations last week with UFC 249, its first event since March due to the coronavirus pandemic. The card took place behind closed doors at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville after the Florida government deemed pro sporting events an essential service.

The UFC is set to hold two more shows in Jacksonville on May 13 and 16.

UFC president Dana White said last week he hopes to hold shows in Las Vegas by the end of May. However, before that can happen, the Nevada Athletic Commission must reinstate MMA events in the state - and as of now, it's unclear when the commission will do that.

Florida is a potential backup plan for the May 30 card, King said.
