Smith rips 'piece of shit' Jones for tweet about home invasion
Anthony Smith believes UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones used the home invasion Smith dealt with earlier this month as a "perfect moment to flex."
Two days after a man entered Smith's house and later tried to fight the 205-pound contender on the early morning of April 5, Jones tweeted this:
Glad Anthony is OK, no way dude would have left my house walking https://t.co/U6wSr8KmA8

In response to that tweet, Smith ripped apart his former foe Tuesday.
"What a perfect opportunity to flex at how goddamn cool you are," Smith said on Sirius XM's MMA Tonight. "Just when you thought, 'Oh, man, that's pretty admirable of Jon Jones to reach out and (wish me well).' But then as you continue to read it, you're like, 'Oh, that's right, I forgot you're still a f------ douchebag.' It's just his opportunity to insert himself and make sure everybody knows how cool and badass he is."
For a moment, "Lionheart" said, he thought he would have to respond to the longtime titleholder and thank him for the kind message.
"Just for a second, I thought you were human and you had a soul, and then I realized you're still the same piece of shit you've always been," Smith said.
In the end, the 31-year-old said he simply doesn't understand what Jones was trying to achieve with his tweet. Smith called the home invasion a "worst-case scenario" and previously said it was one of the toughest fights he's had.
"It's real easy to sit there," Smith said. "I've been that guy that said, 'Man, if that guy came to my house, I would've just beat the shit out of him, I would've done this and that, I would've shot him.' It's real easy to say that until you're caught in it and you've been awake for eight seconds and you're in the middle of a goddamn pandemonium throwdown in the middle of your living room with no pants on. Nobody's ready for that shit. It's real easy to flex on Twitter."
