UFC welterweight Leon Edwards thought Colby Covington showed his true colors after losing to Kamaru Usman at UFC 245.
"It was weird. He clearly got knocked out, making all these excuses and running out the back," Edwards told theScore. "All this like show he puts on, it's just a show. He's not built like that, the way he goes on is not the way he is. He's just a weasel basically, that's what he showed me. And that's exactly what he is."
Edwards, who's riding an eight-fight win streak, was sitting cageside for the title bout and believes he could be the next welterweight champion based on what he saw.
"I thought Usman was winning probably three (rounds) to one (heading into the fifth)," Edwards said. "It was a close fight, it wasn't a massive gap. It was a good fight, but being ringside I just knew from watching it I could be a world champion. Watching their technique … it's more conviction for me that I can achieve my goal."
Edwards will return to the Octagon on March 21 opposite Tyron Woodley as the pair headline UFC London at the O2 Arena.
