Blaydes TKOs dos Santos in UFC Raleigh main event
Curtis Blaydes stopped Junior dos Santos in the second round of the UFC Raleigh main event Saturday night. The TKO finish came at the 1:06 mark of the frame.
Blaydes hurt dos Santos with a huge punch and swarmed the former heavyweight champion with a barrage of right hands and knees until the referee intervened.
Best known for his wrestling, "Razor" used his striking to get the job done Saturday as dos Santos defended all of his takedown attempts.
The win was Blaydes' third straight in the Octagon and put the 28-year-old in a great position in the weight class. He entered the bout ranked No. 3 and may now be just one win away from a shot at UFC gold.
Dos Santos, meanwhile, is riding a two-fight skid; the Brazilian lost to Francis Ngannou in just over a minute last June. Before that, "Cigano" won three in a row.
