Magomedsharipov defeats Kattar in UFC Moscow main event
Zabit Magomedsharipov beat Calvin Kattar via unanimous decision Saturday at the main event of UFC Fight Night 163 in Moscow.
Punches flew throughout the tightly contested bout, but all three judges ultimately gave Magomedsharipov the 29-28 edge on the scorecards.
The Russian's UFC record remains unblemished, now at 6-0 since joining the promotion.
Magomedsharipov, the No. 5 contender in the featherweight division, said during his postfight interview that he wants his next bout to be against the winner of the weight class' title fight between Max Holloway and Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 245 on Dec. 14.
Kattar, meanwhile, fought well in defeat. The No. 11 featherweight contender had a strong third round but it wasn't enough to earn the decision. The loss was the 31-year-old's second in his last four bouts and dropped his UFC record to 4-2.
