Ex-NBAer Royce White releases new book about transitioning to MMA
Former NBA first-round pick Royce White has his sights set on the UFC.
White released a new book titled "MMA x NBA: A Critique of Modern Sport in America," which details his transition from basketball to mixed martial arts - something he has kept quiet about until now.
"I'm coming for the UFC heavyweight crown," the 27-year-old told The Last Renaissance.
The book is described by The Last Renaissance as "a first of its kind, bringing philosophy into sport in a way that's reminiscent of the old Samurai treatises of 17th and 18th century Japan - 'The Book of Five Rings;' 'Hagakure' - but with a modern context and a more western, systematizing-style influence."
White is currently training at The Academy in Minnesota under Greg Nelson, who has worked with fighters like Brock Lesnar and Sean Sherk. He has also entered the BIG3 draft pool for the 2019 season.
