"Cowboy" stands alone in UFC history.
Donald Cerrone defeated Mike Perry via first-round submission to become the all-time leader in wins (21) and finishes (15) in UFC history during the promotion's 25th-anniversary celebration show in Denver.
Cerrone surpassed Michael Bisping and Georges St-Pierre in all-time wins and Vitor Belfort and Anderson Silva in all-time finishes.
Perry was surprisingly conservative in the opening minutes of the bout and made an ill-fated decision to take the fight to the mat, where Cerrone's superior grappling skills shone through.
Cerrone managed to work off his back, spin his former sparring partner around, and lock in the arm bar to secure the victory.
