UFC president Dana White confirmed on the "UFC Unfiltered" podcast that the promotion is working on a lightweight fight between Nate Diaz and Georges St-Pierre, with the aim of booking it for UFC 227 in Los Angeles in August.

Diaz has been away from the Octagon for nearly two years, and when asked about potentially facing St-Pierre last year, he said it was his older brother Nick's fight.

GSP seemed uninterested in fighting the younger Diaz when asked about a potential fight earlier this year, citing his one-sided win over Nick in 2013. The Canadian legend is currently sidelined due to colitis, and it's unknown if he's been cleared for action.

White added that in "a perfect world," Nate and St-Pierre would co-main the L.A. card, which is headlined by a title rematch between bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw and Cody Garbrandt.
