Nate Diaz's long layoff may be coming to an end.
Diaz, who hasn't fought since losing in a majority decision to Conor McGregor in August 2016, is currently in discussions with the UFC to make his long-awaited return at UFC 227 on Aug. 4, sources informed ESPN's Brett Okamoto.
UFC president Dana White told Okamoto there was no update on the situation. Diaz said in February that he's "sick of not fighting."
The UFC 227 card is currently headlined by a bantamweight title rematch between champion TJ Dillashaw and challenger Cody Garbrandt.
