Tyron Woodley has found himself one hell of an MMA apprentice.

The UFC welterweight champion said he and Floyd Mayweather ran into each other at the NBA's All-Star Weekend and spoke about potentially training together. Woodley added the two are "already setting it up."

"I saw him at the Jordan party during (NBA) All-Star weekend," Woodley said, during his TMZ Sports segment 'Hollywood Beatdown'. "We started chatting about training MMA and we decided let's connect, let's hook up in Vegas and do some training and get him ready for MMA."

Mayweather has teased a move into the Octagon in several videos recently, and his father, Floyd Mayweather Sr., believes his son will eventually try his hand at MMA.

Many have dismissed the decorated boxer's chances in the UFC, but Woodley doesn't think "Money" would be at a bigger disadvantage than any other fighter who struggles on the mat.

"Floyd Mayweather's one of the best strikers of all time," Woodley said. "How many guys in the UFC that can't wrestle and can't grapple that consider themselves a standup fighter, but they have to stand across one of the greatest strikers ever, they gonna be in a world of smoke."
