Dana White said Yoel Romero will take on Robert Whittaker for the UFC middleweight title next after his win over Luke Rockhold at UFC 221 on Saturday, despite the fact the Cuban missed weight and was ineligible to win the interim belt, according to ESPN's Brett Okamoto.

Romero came in nearly three pounds over the 185-pound limit on his second attempt at Friday's weigh-in, losing 30 percent of his purse to Rockhold.

However, the 40-year-old will still get his shot at Whittaker, who's currently sidelined with myriad health issues.

Romero destroyed Rockhold with a spectacular knockout in the main event of Saturday's card.
