Ex-UFC lightweight Tae Hyun Bang has been sentenced to 10 months in prison by Seoul Central District Court in South Korea for his role in a fight-fixing scheme gone wrong at UFC Fight Night 79 in November 2015, The Korean Herald reports.

Bang was found guilty of taking a bribe of 100 million South Korean won ($92,160) from three brokers, who were also sentenced to jail time, to throw his fight with Leo Kuntz at the event in Seoul. With the 34-year-old reportedly agreeing to give up the first two rounds, the ensuing betting action took him from a slight favorite to a heavy underdog. The shift prompted UFC officials to warn Bang mere hours before the bout, with the fighter ultimately changing his stance and edging Kuntz by split decision.

The South Korean native took the Octagon once more, less than 10 months later at UFC Fight Night 93 in Hamburg, where he dropped a unanimous decision to Nick Hein. He was released shortly afterwards with a promotional record of 2-3.
