Referee Marc Goddard has broken his silence regarding the events that unfolded at Bellator 187 on Friday.
Goddard oversaw the fight between Charlie Ward and John Redmond, which ended with UFC star Conor McGregor scaling the fence to celebrate what he presumed to be a win for Ward.
Goddard said he had failed to call the match over and was attempting to assess the situation before McGregor's interference.
He added McGregor threatened to see Goddard in his hometown.
McGregor publicly apologized for his actions with an Instagram post on Tuesday.
