Kevin Lee misses weight for UFC 216, granted extra hour to lose 1 pound
Interim lightweight title contender Kevin Lee came in a pound over weight, tipping the scales at 156 pounds at Friday's weigh-ins and needed clearance from doctors to be allowed another hour to make weight for his fight with Tony Ferguson. The co-main event was scheduled to headline Saturday's UFC 216 card.

Lee had said on Thursday that he weighed 174 pounds and therefore needed to cut 19 pounds in a matter of a day.
Both fighters were hoping to take hold of a division that was essentially vacated by lightweight champion Conor McGregor. The winner of the Ferguson-Lee fight would have been set up to face McGregor in a unification bout.
It could be another cancellation of a bout featuring Ferguson, who has not fought since Nov. 5, 2016. A main-event fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov was called off in March.
