Floyd Mayweather def. Conor McGregor via 10th-round TKO

Round-by-round Coverage

ROUND 10: McGregor is desperately clinching, but Byrd isn't having any of it. Mayweather swarms him off the break and keeps swinging with the Irishman's back against the ropes until the third man in the ring has seen enough. Mayweather wins "The Money Fight" by 10th-round TKO and improves to a perfect 50-0.

ROUND 9: McGregor comes out swinging and cracks Mayweather with a shot to the body. He's running low on gas however, prompting Mayweather to go head hunting with his right hand, which he lands with ease as McGregor helplessly plods around the ring with his hands down. A strong statement from Mayweather in the most lopsided round of the fight.

ROUND 8: Despite his obvious fatigue, McGregor begins the stanza with a renewed sense of urgency. His left hand hits paydirt a few times, but Mayweather refuses to relinquish the reins, walking McGregor down and contentedly potshotting until round's end. Not much action, but "Money" remains in the driver's seat.

ROUND 7: Mayweather is no longer being bullied in the clinch and fearlessly puts McGregor on the back foot. A volume puncher, he is not, but his patented right straight is finding his foe's noggin at will. The UFC champ's much maligned gas tank has begun rearing its ugly head. Mayweather in control after seven.

ROUND 6: Mayweather pours it on to open the round as McGregor appears to have tired. The Irishman laughs him off, but the seasoned boxer may have finally found his range and begun turning the tables in a nailbiter - while standing in the pocket, no less. The fighters could very well be even on the judges' scorecards at the halfway mark.

ROUND 5: Byrd warns McGregor once more for his efforts to bully a fairly elusive Mayweather. The 40-year-old begins to press forward, and while a telling blow has yet to be produced by either side, he manages to crack McGregor with a straight right before shoving McGregor to cap the round.

ROUND 4: Mayweather finally lets his hands fly, the punches finding their home at will. "Money" rides his head movement to keep McGregor from landing anything cleanly for the bulk of the frame, although the Irishman feeds him a few shots to the body to close it out. Easily the closest round of the contest thus far.

ROUND 3: Byrd issues McGregor another warning for hitting Mayweather in the back of the head. McGregor continues to dictate the pace and pops the career pugilist's head back with a jab. Mayweather remains unfazed at round's end despite his negligible output.

ROUND 2: McGregor once again backs a passive Mayweather into a corner, only for referee Robert Byrd to break them up when the UFC champ throws a hammerfist. The Irishman aims to bully the defensive whiz, but Byrd is having none of his clinch attempts. As in the first, Mayweather throws very little, all but giving the round away.

ROUND 1: Mayweather allows McGregor to back him against the ropes and let his mitts fly. The fighters take the center of the ring before long, with Mayweather throwing little while the Irishman stalks and lands little of consequence. The UFC champ's initiative wins him his first round as a pro boxer.
