With Dos Santos out, Ngannou gunning for Overeem at UFC 215
Francis Ngannou isn't wasting any time in moving on from Junior dos Santos.
After dos Santos was pulled from their date at next month's UFC 215 due to a potential violation of the USADA's anti-doping policy Friday, the heavyweight contender took to Twitter to challenge Alistair Overeem to a duel on the September bill.
The UFC is currently seeking a replacement to keep Ngannou on the card, and if Overeem were to fill dos Santos' shoes, he'd be returning to the Octagon on just a two-month turnaround, having last edged Fabricio Werdum by majority decision at UFC 213 in July.
Ngannou is coming off a first-round knockout of Andrei Arlovski at January's UFC on FOX 23. He currently sits fourth in the promotion's divisional rankings, with Overeem first.
UFC 215 is scheduled for Sep. 9 at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta.
