Bantamweight Bout: Marlon Vera def. Brian Kelleher via 1st-round submission (armbar)

Whatever you do, don't ever let Marlon Vera get hold of your arm.

"Chito" snagged Kelleher's left limb early in their Fight Pass preliminary fight at UFC on FOX 25 in Long Island, and he didn't let go until he'd locked in an armbar that had his opponent tapping out to save himself a broken bone.

Kelleher initiated the offense from the start, but his attempts to take Vera down proved to be his undoing as the Ecuadorian countered with a kimura attempt. Determined to take the action to the mat, Kelleher used brute force to throw Vera to the canvas, only to find that the hold on his arm was not relinquished.

Before the hold was even completely sunk in, Kelleher signaled to the ref that he wanted out.

Vera has now won three straight following victories over Brad Pickett and Ning Guangyou, while Kelleher sees the end of a seven-fight win streak that dated back to November 2014.

The 30-year-old New Yorker was stepping into the Octagon for the second time in 49 days.

Featherweight Bout: Jeremy Kennedy def. Kyle Bochniak via unanimous decision

Fighting in the U.S. for the first time, Kennedy brought a ton of takedowns with him.

The 24-year-old Canadian looked right at home in front of a crowd of New Yorkers, using his powerful wrestling to control Bochniak and sweep the scorecards after three rounds.

Kennedy needed only a few seconds to score his first takedown, one of eight total, according to UFC.com.

Bochniak had no answer for Kennedy's wrestling-heavy gameplan and any of his attempts at offense were snuffed out. However, he showed signs of life in Round 3, only for Kennedy to take him down to the canvas again where he rode out the remainder of the fight.

Kennedy improves to 11-0 as a professional. After the fight, he called for a bout with longtime UFC veteran Gray Maynard.

Heavyweight Bout: Junior Albini def. Timothy Johnson via 1st-round TKO

Albini announced his arrival on the UFC heavyweight scene with authority.

It took less than three minutes for the newcomer they call "Baby" to knock off the No. 12-ranked Johnson. A huge knee to the body wobbled Johnson, leaving him open for a left-right hook combo that put him down on the mat, where Albini finished with hammer fists at the 2:51 mark of Round 1.

Following a strong run on the Brazilian regional scene, Albini has now won 10 straight bouts with eight of those wins coming by way of knockout or submission.

Johnson found out the hard way how potent Albini can be as a finisher, and he has now alternated wins and losses in his past six contests. This is the first time he's failed to make it to the final bell since joining the UFC two years ago.

Featherweight Bout: Shane Burgos def. Godofredo Pepey via unanimous decision

He may not have added to his impressive reel of finishes, but Burgos did the Bronx proud Saturday.

Matched up with the equally explosive Pepey, Burgos showed he was the far more disciplined striker, tuning his Brazilian foe up for three rounds en route to a lopsided unanimous decision win.

With the victory, Burgos is now 3-0 in the UFC's deep featherweight division and 10-0 overall.

The 26-year-old looked completely prepared for Pepey's dynamic style, avoiding his opponent's spinning techniques and scoring repeatedly with his crisp striking. He knocked Pepey down twice in the opening round, first with a knee up the middle and then a crackling straight right.

Pepey was undeterred by the initial onslaught and he charged ahead in Round 2, freely exchanging with Burgos on the feet.

But Burgos welcomed Pepey's aggression. He deftly slipped punches while landing his own time and time again. When Pepey attempted to manufacture a brawl in Round 3, Burgos made him pay with a devastating body blow.

All three judges awarded the fight to Burgos, with two scoring it 30-26 and one issuing a curious 29-28 scorecard that didn't reflect Burgos's dominance.

Pepey loses for just the second time in his past six contests. He is 5-5 in the UFC.

Lightweight Bout: Chris Wade def. Frankie Perez via unanimous decision

The UFC on FOX 25 Fight Pass preliminary opener turned into a wrestling contest, which suited Wade just fine.

New York's Wade got off to a good start for the home team at the Nassau Coliseum, outworking Perez to win a unanimous decision.

Neither man shied away from the grappling challenge, with Wade having the advantage early on. He used a lot of energy to hold Perez down, and when Perez saw an opening he went for his own shots with moderate success.

Wade was sharper through the majority of Round 1, an advantage that carried over to the rest of the bout.

In Round 3, Perez continued to try and outwrestle Wade, only to find that Wade was able to escape or sweep back into top position. The bout lacked a truly significant moment, but at the end it was Wade who was determined to put on the stronger performance.

The win snaps a two-fight losing skid for Wade and he improves to 5-2 inside the Octagon. Perez has now lost two straight and three of his last four.
