Hendricks misses weight for UFC Oklahoma City co-main event

Sean Pokorny / USA TODAY Sports

Jumping up a division evidently wasn't enough for Johny Hendricks to get past his long-standing weight-cut issues.

Hendricks checked in two pounds over the 186-pound limit Saturday for his UFC Oklahoma City co-main middleweight matchup with Tim Boetsch, marking the third time in his career he missed weight.

The previous two times occurred while he was a welterweight. He now joins Anthony Johnson, John Lineker, Thiago Alves, and Charles Oliveira among the only UFC fighters to miss weight in two different divisions.

Hendricks was also pulled from a UFC 192 fight against Tyron Woodley due to health issues that arose as a result of his cut.

The bout will be fought at catchweight, and Hendricks will forfeit 20 percent of his purse to his opponent, according to MMA Junkie's John Morgan.

Jared Gordon, who's scheduled to take on Michel Quinones in one of the event's three preliminary-card matchups, was the only other fighter to miss weight Saturday and will be subject to the same fine.

Headlining matchups, including the Michael Chiesa-Kevin Lee main event and a BJ Penn-Dennis Siver featherweight bout, are officially set.
