Here's one for the nostalgic set.
In a moment certain to make every hardcore MMA fan squeal with glee, former Pride FC stars Fedor Emelianenko and Wanderlei Silva posed together for a photo ahead of their respective bouts at Bellator NYC on Saturday at Madison Square Garden.
Silva fights Chael Sonnen in the main event while Emelianenko takes on Matt Mitrione in the co-headliner, but it's their past exploits that have them still featured prominently on cards as they enter the twilight of their careers.
"The Axe Murderer" and "The Last Emperor" carved a terrifying swath of destruction through the Pride ranks in Japan for much of the 2000s and that legacy is permanently imprinted on the minds of anyone who witnessed their dominance.
A decade after making their last appearances for that promotion, the two reunited in New York City. Pride really never dies.
