Chael Sonnen's next Submission Underground show is starting to take shape with a couple of former MMA champions joining the fray.

Sonnen announced a pair of grappling matches for SUG 4 on May 14 in Portland during an appearance Monday on "The MMA Hour." Jake Shields will take on Brazilian jiu-jitsu star Dillon Danis, while Urijah Faber returns to martial arts competition for the first time since retiring from the UFC to roll with Paulo Miyao.

Though Sonnen is competing for Bellator, he also acts as a promoter for SUG. The grappling-only events have been highlighted by appearances from MMA stars Jon Jones, Dan Henderson, Michael Bisping, Miesha Tate, and Chad Mendes, as well as a bevy of notable BJJ practitioners.

Shields has not fought since losing to Jon Fitch in a World Series of Fighting welterweight title match in December. The former Strikeforce champion is no stranger to grappling competition, having won a gold medal at the 2005 Pan American Championships.

However, the 38-year-old will be in tough against Danis, one of the most accomplished BJJ artists in North America.

Faber stepped away from MMA competition in December, but is looking to stay busy against Miyao. He'll take a BJJ brown belt into his matchup with the decorated Miyao, a Brazilian who has won multiple gold medals in grappling.
