"The Korean Zombie" has set his sights on the UFC featherweight top five.
On Monday, Chan Sung Jung challenged third-ranked Ricardo Lamas to an August duel. The 29-year-old attempted to sweeten the pot by deeming the bout worthy of a main-event slot, although the UFC has yet to formally announce any events for the month.

After mandatory military service and injuries kept him out of action for well over three years, Jung returned to the Octagon last month at UFC Fight Night 104, where he dispatched Dennis Bermudez by first-round KO in the main event. The fan favorite moved into the No. 6 spot of the featherweight rankings with the victory.
Lamas is coming off a stoppage win of his own, a second-round submission of Charles Oliveira at November's UFC Fight Night 98. The 34-year-old had begun lobbying for a date with two-time title challenger Frankie Edgar, only for Edgar to book a meeting with Yair Rodriguez at UFC 211. "The Bully" boasts a promotional record of 8-3.
