The UFC lost one of its front-office mainstays last week, as longtime Chief Legal Officer Kirk Hendrick retired, MMAFighting's Ariel Helwani reported Monday.
Hendrick became the promotion's general counsel in November 2002 and was anointed Chief Operating Officer just four months later. He held the position until 2012, when he became the UFC's CLO.
The career lawyer reportedly came into a pretty penny when the company was sold to WME-IMG this past summer, and is the latest entry in a laundry list of recently departed executives, including longtime matchmaker Joe Silva and UFC Brazil GM Giovani Decker. The brass has since hired Hunter Campbell as general counsel, with the in-house cavalry contributing as needed, says Helwani.
Campbell has previously represented longtime UFC welterweight Nick Diaz.
