Nate Diaz's hearing for his involvement in a chaotic press conference melee this past August has been delayed again.
On Thursday, the Nevada State Athletic Commission ruled to move Diaz's hearing to an unspecified date in December. The news comes as little surprise, considering this is the second time Diaz's legal team has asked for a continuance. He was originally slated to stand before the commission on Oct. 10.
Diaz could be facing a fine and a suspension from the NSAC similar to the one received by Conor McGregor, who was the other party involved in the melee. Tensions between the two erupted at a press conference for their bout at UFC 202 when Diaz and his associates left the event upon McGregor's late arrival. That led to a shouting match and bottles and cans being thrown across a room packed with people.
McGregor avoided a suspension but received a hefty $150,000 fine. Diaz's representation has stressed that their client acknowledges he was at fault and that he has expressed regret for the incident. They are asking the NSAC to suspend Diaz in lieu of a fine.
