Greg Hardy's MMA foray is looking like more than a dalliance.
The former NFL defensive end recently visited vaunted camp American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Fla., to sharpen his skills with some of the sport's most reputable fighters. Hardy took to Instagram to formally thank the crew for hosting him:
According to a report from TMZ Sports, Hardy was living in the gym's dorms and honing his chops with the likes of Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal and former WEC champion Mike Brown during his stay.
The ex-NFLer last graced the gridiron in a Dallas Cowboys jersey in 2015. Hardy's checkered past, specifically his 2014 arrest for assaulting and threatening an ex-girlfriend, has prompted many in the combat sports world to condemn his transition to cage fighting, among them NFL insider and MMA trainer Jay Glazer.
The 28-year-old's sole Pro Bowl nod came in 2013, when he compiled 15 sacks as a member of the Carolina Panthers. He has yet to be scooped up by a fight promotion.
