Woodley tweets GSP conversation to prove mutual interest in fight
UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley has had enough of people questioning his attempts to name his opponent for his first title defense.
Responding to comments from UFC president Dana White that indicated Woodley would be fighting No. 1 contender Stephen Thompson next, Woodley was incredulous.
He tweeted out that he had heard nothing from the UFC suggesting that the Thompson fight was official prior to White's comments, then shared a text message conversation purportedly between himself and welterweight legend Georges St-Pierre to show he has bigger fish to fry.
Woodley's claim isn't unfounded, as St-Pierre reportedly told MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani that he would be interested in making Woodley his first opponent should he make his long-speculated comeback.
