Michael Bradley is staying put.
The 32-year-old, who led Toronto FC to the MLS Cup in 2017, has agreed to a new contract with the Reds, according to Neil Davidson of The Canadian Press.
TFC reportedly used Targeted Allocation Money to re-sign Bradley, who was set to become a free agent at the end of December.
Bradley was a Designated Player in each of his first six years with the team, making $6.5 million per season.
By using allocation money, Toronto has freed up one of its three DP spots for the 2020 campaign. Alejandro Pozuelo and Jozy Altidore occupy the other two.
Club president Bill Manning said in November he would target another goalscorer in the winter. Bradley's team-friendly deal may now allow that to happen.
Bradley had expressed a desire to stay in the city, and talk over his future only intensified as he guided TFC to a third MLS Cup final in four years. However, Toronto fell short against the Seattle Sounders in a 3-1 loss.
