Toronto FC star Jozy Altidore isn't optimistic he'll be able to recover from his quadriceps injury in time for Sunday's MLS Cup final.

Speaking to reporters following a training session on Monday, the American striker said it would take "a bit of a miracle" for him to play against the Seattle Sounders, according to Joshua Kloke of The Athletic.

Altidore, 29, hasn't featured during TFC's playoff run after suffering the ailment during the club's final match of the regular season against Columbus.

In his postseason absence, manager Greg Vanney has opted to use Alejandro Pozuelo in a false-nine role, with Nicolas Benezet and Tsubasa Endoh in support out wide.

Altidore, who has already missed playoff victories over D.C. United, New York City FC, and Atlanta United, scored the winning goal in the 2017 MLS Cup final against Seattle.
