The skirmish that led to the dismissals of Jozy Altidore and Sacha Kljestan Sunday involved several Toronto FC and New York Red Bulls players. Coaches Greg Vanney and Jesse Marsch even got involved, as new video showed the two sides barking inside the players' tunnel at BMO Field.
It's unclear what ignited the brouhaha at half-time of the Eastern Conference semi-final second leg. TFC captain Michael Bradley appeared to act as a peacemaker before things got out of hand.
Someone can be heard yelling at the Red Bulls, "Why are you here?"
Despite a 1-0 loss on the night, the Reds advanced to a second consecutive conference final thanks to the away goals rule. Altidore will miss the first leg of the encounter with the Columbus Crew as a result of the red card.
